Your Virtual Secretary has been permanently "hired" on as co-owner of RosesAndTeacups.com
I am living proof that you can succeed at working in the virtual world.
Your Virtual Secretary started from, believe it or not, a handbag selling business. I started selling handbags in 2004 after the corporation that I was working for had rumors of shutting down. At the time I had two very small boys and two teenage step-daughters who needless to say required most of my attention. My husband was working 6 to 7 days a week to provide a good home for his family. I could not stand by watching him work that hard without pulling in income myself.
I found that I had a knack for selling handbags, but it proved to be tons of work with few profits. While gaining networking knowledge through trying to sell handbags I came upon a forum that spoke of virtually assisting businesses from a home office.
I had worked in the corporate world for 15 years where I had gained skills that I knew would be helpful and beneficial to many types of business. My strengths were in bookkeeping and general accounting, so I built my "niche" for those types of companies.
Soon I had eleven clients and more calling. It was exciting, exhausting, thrilling, and a ton of work with good money coming in.
I then became a client for Nancy Guenther who was starting a company called Roses and Teacups.com. She had started out sewing eyeglass cases and then added items to her site that complimented her idea of what women might not only enjoy purchasing but also enjoy looking at.
Nancy wanted a web site that women would be romanced by. Soft tones, beautiful florals, and lovely products. Nancy asked me to keep the books and to help her as needed. Well, it turns out she "needed" me more than the other clients I had, so she became my only client. Everyday we worked virtually side by side into the wee hours in the morning adding here, tweaking there.
In 2008 she asked me to be co-owner of RosesAndTeacups.com and I gladly accepted.
